Eh! Not impressed at all. Went with this place due to the high ratings here on Google Maps, however, it fell WAY short. Their communications via WhatsApp to answer simple questions took DAYS. Their service & demeanor while at the shop was, let's just say, underwhelming...Not the best customer service out there. & NO bathrooms in the premises! We also felt our captain & dive master (on these photos attached) were not very professional. They were just extremely casual about things & lacked the seriousness & professionalism you find in other shops. The dive master gave us the feeling he had a "power trip" superiority complex & wasn't very approachable. We visited a different shop the day after to go to Tackle Box & Esmeralda, & it was like day & night...in contrast, they were super pleasant & professional. Also, the dive master was applying some kind of dish wash detergent to everyone's masks to keep them from fogging, however, he didn't rinse the soap as he should on my mask, which caused my eyes to burn like HELL, for most of the dive, once water got inside the mask! It really put a damper in my diving experience. Additionally, the whole snorkeling with the nurse sharks at Shark Alley was beyond anticlimactic, underwhelming & short. We thought that stop was supposed to be much longer than the mere 10 minutes we were there! Finally, the air on the tanks wasn't the best. My diving buddy could taste something foul when he inhaled from his reg, an oily taste, & he ended up with a massive headache at the end of our Hol Chan dive. My diving buddy is a divemaster himself with DECADES of experience under his belt, so he knows what he's talking about. We definitely would not use Amigos Del Mar again for our diving needs, nor would we recommend it to others.
