This is a little beach accessed via a lave flow and to the left of the harbor when you’re on your way in. If you miss your right turn for turtles, this is where you’ll end up. I understand it’s excellent for snorkeling. The waves and undertow was so bad, they shut down this beach.
Beach is in National Park for starters. We were lucky enough to be there when quite a few sea turtles were foraging near shore. My wife was in shock when she went down to the water. She froze and gleefully hollered "Get the camera, get the …
So much wildlife and easy to access. Best to come 11am-3pm if you want to see the turtles. There is also beach access here for swimming. To see the turtles you have to walk on the lava rocks so wear appropriate shoes. And of course, do not touch the turtles or bother them in any way. It is illegal!!!!!!
