I joined Alpha Dive on the Whale Swim on the 17 Feb 26, unfortunately nature was against us and we could not swim with the whales, there was a 3 metre swell in the open water and the whales weren't hanging out in the sheltered waters. Despite not getting to swim with the whales, we managed to find a jumping male in the open water and got to follow him as he breached multiple times. To counter a scathing review that was posted about today's trip calling it a scam, Alpha Dive had 6 crew sat on the upper deck for 6 hours in the rain and wind looking for whales, the decision not to extend the time was because conditions were worsening and it was clear we would not be able to enter the water. From my perspective the crew did all they could, today just wasn't the day. I am glad I was with a dive shop who didn't comprimise safety and let us in the water in a 3 metre swell. In relation to the weather warning, that came out this morning, the decision regarding whether the trip is going ahead is made the night before (as the meet time is 6:20am). Obviously it is disappointing to not get the chance to swim with the whales, but that experience was never guaranteed and mother nature has her own agenda. If wildlife/nature experiences were guaranteed they wouldn't be as special when they happen, and if you want a guaranteed wildlife encounter you should go to a zoo/aquarium. I'm so convinced it isn't a scam that I've enquired with Alpha Dive to find another slot to try again for the whale swim.

Had an amazing experience diving with Alpha Dive! The staff were super friendly and professional, making the whole trip smooth and fun. They took us to some of the most beautiful dive sites I’ve ever seen — absolutely stunning! A big thank you to the crew for taking such good care of us (and for making delicious soba on the boat 🍜). Highly recommend Alpha Dive to anyone looking for a great dive adventure!

I thoroughly enjoyed this boat diving trip! The instructor was great, the setup was smooth, and I really appreciate your team's effort. You created a wonderful memory for my third dive. 😀
