We booked a morning tour for a Discover Diving course for my son, and a refresher course for myself. We arrived around 8am and met our instructor Jamar. We were with a couple that was doing the same Refresher/Discover course. Jamar was was fantastic and took us through the basics and skill demonstrations before we set out for a couple of dives on the reef. The first dive was a bit of a bigger group with a photographer and a couple of other experienced divers joined the dive. The second dive we were lucky was just the two of us and the instructor. We felt safe the entire time and got to explore the beautiful reefs off Akumal. We finished around 230 in the afternoon. The Dive Centre is nice because they have parking right behind it; and a bit more space to get organized and settled without the bustling of tourists back and forth through the space. The staff was friendly, They provide lockers; and the equipment was all in good order. I also felt spoiled with a nice hot shower after we were all done for the day. The Dive Centre is located right on the beach so we were able to walk right into the bay for the lesson and then took a boat a short few minute ride to the reef for a water entry. We were lucky to check everything off the bucket list and amongst the diversity of fish we saw Turtles, Sharks, Eels, Barracudas. Truly a beautiful place to explore diving and a great shop. Thanks again to Jamar some great memories.
