My friend and I got our PADI Open Water certifications here! We were assisted by Matsuda, a permanent staff member, and Shiozawa, who came over from the Shinjuku branch as a seasonal staff member! Matsuda was the main instructor, and Shiozawa was the photographer and provided support, always ready to help out when needed. They were incredibly reliable! The second underwater photo was taken by them! The ocean is truly a life-threatening experience, and even when I was worried about breathing, they were there to ease my worries, so I felt at ease while diving! If you're thinking of taking your first dive, I highly recommend Papalagi Naha! 🙆🏻‍♀️ As an aside, we left our pre-dive medical check and e-learning until the last minute, which caused some people to wonder, "Will these three people actually show up?" It's best to complete the e-learning at least a week beforehand! Apparently, you won't be allowed to take the course unless you complete the e-learning, so be sure to do it!

Since moving to Okinawa, I've been using Papalagi for all my diving, from open water to advanced diving, and fun diving. The small group sizes make for a calm and relaxed atmosphere, so even a solo female dive can feel at ease. For both open water and advanced diving, the instructors are thorough and kind, and they provide accurate advice. I would definitely recommend Papalagi if you're looking to get your license. Of course, I would also recommend it for fun diving. They have instructors who are knowledgeable about both the macro world and the wide world. I always enjoy chatting with them while writing down my dive logs after each dive. This is a shop I want to continue using for a long time. I look forward to continuing to work with them.
